Abstract
A Study on the Effect of Welfare Activities on Employee Productivity – Employee is considered as the chief organ of organizational productivity. The ability of the organization in achieving higher position in terms of productivity and profitability highly depends on its employees. Effective management and welfare of employees plays an important role in reaching the desired goals of the organization. Therefore, it is very necessary to seek the co-operation and loyalty of the employees to increase the production The Co-operation and support of employees is possible only when they are fully satisfied with their employer and the working conditions on the workplace Such welfare activities benefit not only the employees but also the management in the form of the greater productive efficiency. Today progressive managers realize that these welfare facilities pay a good divided in the long-run, for they contribute in a large degree towards the health and efficiency of the workers and towards a high morale. Employee welfare defined as efforts to make life worth living for workmen. Employee welfare entails all those activities of employer which are directed towards providing the employees with certain facilities and services in addition to wages or salary. The employees of the organization need continuous encouragement not only in the form of monetary benefits but also welfare measures. Welfare measures largely influence the employees‟ commitment to the organizational goals Further, the research describes the welfare activities which enhance the productivity in Kaashiv Infotech. It explains the need, types, hypothesis, research design of employee welfare activities.

Introduction
Employee welfare is a key factor in providing job satisfaction to employees according to various researchers in different fields. The research was an attempt by various researchers to know the association between employee welfare and job satisfaction and its effect on, development and productivity of organization.
Researchers used different components of Employee welfare to measure its effectiveness some of them made use of compensation, Annual leave, family leave, child care programme, sick leave etc. The impact of welfare facilities provided to workers and its effect on performance in Public and private sector was measured by the results of which discovered employees in public sector are provided with better welfare facilities and comparatively they are more satisfied with facilities provided to them than private workers in India. Welfare includes anything that is done for the comfort and improvement of employees and is provided over and above the wages.
Welfare helps in keeping the morale and motivation of the employees high to retain the employees for longer duration, which helps the organization to achieve its goals. “Employee welfare is a comprehensive term including various services, benefits and facilities offered to employees & by the employers. Welfare facilities are designed to take care of the well- being of the employees, they do not generally result in any monetary benefit to the employees. Welfare includes anything that is done for the comfort and improvement of employees and is provided over and above the wages or salary. Welfare helps in keeping the morale and motivation of the employees high to retain the employees for longer duration and it also increases the efficiency of work.

In future employee welfare will be very important concept in HR because it is beneficial for employee and organization also the components of welfare facilities considered for study were Work environment, recreational, housing, sanitary and drinking water facilities, transportation, retirement benefits the need of welfare facilities through employee assistance programme such as motional, medical, insurance, investment, life skills and career development needs of employees.

- To know the Employees opinion about the present welfare facilities at Kaashiv InfoTech.
- To analyze the satisfaction of the employees towards the present welfare activities provided in the organization.
- To know whether these facilities motivate the employee to work effectively or not. To give certain suggestions based on the findings provided by the organization which leads to increases in their productivity.

Scope of the Study
Employee welfare Activities are combinations of many steps; Employee welfare measures advocate that higher productivity requires more hard work of employees than modern technology. This can only be achieved by the satisfaction of the employees as they feel that they are the main participant in the production process, and they work with full enthusiasm to increase production and productivity. So, employee welfare must include good conditions of the work environment, health facilities for employees, employee welfare programs (economic as well as social), and various general welfare works.
Need for the Study
To attract, motivate and retain good employees, organization need to define what employees want from employment relationship. Employee needs are to consider Total Reward which is everything an employee perceives resulting from working for the company. Many studies contend that benefits are the most useful mean to attract, motivate and retain employees. Companies offering more voluntary benefits have better chance of attracting qualified people and retaining them on the other hand retention is key challenge in firms lacking such welfare benefits and where work tends to get routine and there is no opportunity for personal growth and development. The most common reason that employee turnover take place includes monotonous work schedule, stress at workplace, lack of career growth, training and development opportunities etc. But if employer provides various welfare facilities regarding health, safety, training and development which helps the employers to retain in the organization.
